How about a new career as a Full Time Auction Assistant to work alongside our clients very experienced, driven, and friendly team. FULL TRAINING PROVIDED.
This role is based at the Machinery Saleground in Ely and at various auction locations within the UK so we are looking for someone that enjoys being outside, travelling and is happy to stay away from home on occasions when an auction is taking place.
We would like to work with someone that is driven and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in agricultural machinery and who wants to work with us to build on the success of the Cambridge Machinery Sale monthly auctions and Onsite Modern and Vintage auctions.
The Auction Assistant Package:-
Basic salary of up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience in the field
Hours of work 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch
Working one Sunday per month with day off in lieu
23 days annual leave, plus bank holidays with entitlement increasing with length of service
Winter shutdown between Christmas and New Year as we recognise that our people need a break

What will you be doing?
This is a hands on role and you will be working alongside colleagues assisting with the set up of the various onsite auctions taking place throughout the UK, the monthly Machinery auctions at the Machinery Saleground and the vintage machinery auctions held both at our saleground and at The Great Yorkshire Showground at Harrogate.
Main purpose / scope of role:-
Consigning machinery for the monthly machinery auctions
Setting up of auctions, event management, including towing the sales office
Operating the live on-line bidding platform
Cataloguing and lotting items for auction
Photography of lots for the on-line catalogue and assist with social media and general marketing
Dealing with pre and post auction enquiries from vendors and purchasers, face to face and via telephone and email
Providing advice on valuation of machinery
General administrative duties to support the department
Auctioneering experience is not essential although training could be offered if the successful applicant is keen to be an auctioneer
